The Workshop will have invited papers sessions, contributed/special sessions and regular paper sessions. The official language of the Workshop is English.

INVITED PAPERS

The invited papers will be organized into six groups of four speakers each. Each speaker will be given a minimum of 40 minutes for his/her presentation. The list of invited speakers is now available. These papers will not be peer-reviewed. The deadline for invited paper submission is Monday, May 3, 2004.

SPECIAL SESSION PAPERS

Authors are also invited to submit proposals for invited special sessions by topic of interest. Special sessions consist of five related papers (by invitation) that are collected by the Special Session Chair. Papers collected from less than three institutions/countries are strongly discouraged. The papers will be invited by the Special Session Chair and thus not peer-reviewed.
Special Session organizer(s) should submit a brief statement of purpose for the session to the Program Chair. The statement of purpose must include the list of papers to be included (please list title, author(s), affiliation(s), and abstract for each paper).

REGULAR PAPERS

Original contributed technical papers, not submitted or accepted elsewhere for publication, are solicited for presentation at the Wworkshop and publication in Workshop proceedings. These papers will go through a regular peer-review process.

Technical session topics include, but are not limited to:

1. Modeling, Control and Decision in Biomedicine
2. Time-Frequency Signal Analysis
3. Intelligent Signal Processing and Control
4. Estimation and Identification Methods
5. Adaptive and Nonlinear Control
6. Robust Control Design and Software
7. Large Scale and Hybrid Systems
8. Stochastic Estimation and Control
9. Control and Signal Processing Curriculum Development for 21st Century Higher education

PAPER FORMAT

Please follow the instructions under "Author kit".

DISCUSSION GROUPS - ROUNDTABLES

The workshop will also have a period of three to four hours for discussion by small groups, e.g. 10 members/group. This will provide an opportunity for every participant to express his/her opinions on the subject matters of his/her interest.

Group discussion topics include:

A. Technical Society Chapters in Southeastern Europe (e.g. IFAC, IEEE and ASME)
B. Research and Collaboration in Control and Signal Processing between US, Japan, EC, and Southeastern European Universities
C. Exchange Programs: graduate students and visiting scholars
D. How to prepare for the EU Framework VI research project proposal
